“A couple of seasons ago I had Maverix come out and speak to my Softball team. Hunter is a former student of mine, so it was a true honor to have him come in. To be honest with you I don’t think anything could have prepared me for what he was going to bring to my girls. Hunter truly spoke from the bottom of his heart, he spread so much of his true honest self into what the message he wanted to get across to my players. One moment hit home and deep for a few of my athletes, he spoke of the player he was when he was younger and how he felt as if he was better than the drills the Coaches were offering. He talked about how he would voice the fact that he thought something was beneath him and or “lame” and how wrong he was to be that player. He encourage the girls to be the player that tucked their heads and put in the grind because those were the players they should strive to be that any little drill that someone presents to you always has a purpose to learn from it. “I have had the honor of working with Hunter and the Maverix team a couple of times now.  He first started working with my son just with hitting. That grew to them working with the whole Warhawks team and seeing big growth. At the 14/15u age, kids think they know it all.
